The following parking information is for those driving to Champaign-Urbana for the Summer Research Laboratory in 2008. Parking information will be updated as more options become available.
 
Please keep in mind that the Russian, East European, and Eurasian Center is providing this parking information for your reference only. The Center is not responsible for any parking tickets that you may receive or if your vehicle is towed.

OFF-CAMPUS PARKING

Illini Tower

Limited garage parking available. $10 per day, $50 per week payable to REEEC. Please contact Jodi Kirby at REEEC at 217.333.6022 to arrange for parking.

Baptist Student Foundation Parking

314 E. Daniel St (located about 1 block northwest of Illini Tower). Limited spaces. $10 per day; $50 per week payable to REEEC. To reserve parking, contact Jodi Kirby at REEEC at 217.333.6022.

Street Parking
Please note that nearly all of street parking on and near campus is metered or rented parking, administered either by the city of Champaign or the city of Urbana. We have absolutely no control over these parking spots, and both cities ticket and/or tow vehicles.
 
Associates, as visitors to the city, can obtain a parking tag from the City of Champaign to park on the street if they go to the city's Parking Enforcement Office, 713 Edgebrook, Champaign, IL (Prospect and Bloomington, east of Home Depot). The office is open from 7:30 AM until 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. You must bring the car registration and fill out a short form provided by the police department. The cost of a 1-5 day(s) permit is $7.50 per day; 6-30 days will cost $35. For more information contact the Parking Enforcement Office at 217-403-7050. Subject to change.

CAMPUS PARKING
During week days, there is NO parking on campus from 2:00 am to 6:00 am without a proper permit.

LOT E-14 (southwest corner of First Street and Kirby Avenue; only park in the far southeast corner of the Lot.)
This lot is no longer free. The charge is $11 per day. Temporary passes are available for purchase at the Public Safety Building, 2nd Floor, 1110 W. Springfield (corner of Springfield and Goodwin), during business hours (8am - 5pm) Monday through Friday.

There is a free shuttle bus from the parking lot to 6th and Daniel from 6:30am to 7:30pm during the summer. For more information about the Champaign–Urbana Mass Transit system see: www.cumtd.com
 
Overnight Parking on Weekends
After 5:00pm Friday through 6:00am Monday, visitors may park in the following lots without a permit at no charge:

        • C-09 Chalmers and Sixth (closest to Illini Tower)
        • B-1 Springfield Avenue between Mathews & Goodwin
        • B-17 Harvey Street between Clark and Main
        • E-14 First Street and Kirby
        • F-23 Lincoln Avenue and Florida
        • F-28 Peabody and Dorner Drive
