Civic Education
Project A not-for-profit international education organization
dedicated to assisting universities in Central and Eastern Europe and
the former Soviet Union.
Cold War International History Project
CWIHP was established at the Woodrow Wilson International Center
for Scholars in Washington, D.C., in 1991. The project supports the full
and prompt release of historical materials by governments on all sides
of the Cold War, and seeks to disseminate new information and perspectives
on Cold War history emerging from previously inaccessible sources on "the
other side" -- the former Communist bloc.
The Eurasia Foundation
A privately managed grant-making and operating
organization dedicated to funding programs that build democratic and free
market institutions in the twelve (excl. the Baltics) New Independent

Harriman Institute
The Harriman
Institute at Columbia University is the oldest academic center
in the United States devoted to the interdisciplinary study of the Russian

Hoover Institution
on War, Revolution and Peace The Hoover Institution on War,
Revolution and Peace within Stanford University is a public policy research
center devoted to advanced study of politics, economics, and political
economy—both domestic and foreign—as well as international
affairs.
H-RUSSIA
A member of the H-NET Humanities OnLine initiative. H-RUSSIA encourages
scholarly discussion of Russian and Soviet history and makes available
diverse bibliographical, research and teaching aids. H-RUSSIA's editorial
board and discussion list editors serve a broad intellectual community.
International Research and Exchanges
Board (IREX) IREX is a US-based non-profit organization
committed to international education, whose efforts encompass academic
research, professional training, institution building, technical assistance,
and policy programs between the United States and the countries of Eastern
Europe, the New Independent States, Asia, and the Near East.
Kennan Institute
for Advanced Russian Studies The
Kennan Institute provides a forum for bringing historical depth on and
contemporary understanding of Russia and the former Soviet Union to the
nation's capital. The Institute organizes seminars, workshops, briefings,
and conferences featuring prominent scholars and policymakers from America,
Russia, and other successor states to the Soviet Union with experience
in shaping U.S.-Russian policy.
The National Capital Language
Resource Center Located in Washington, D.C., the NCLRC is
one of seven federally-funded language resource centers. A collaboration
between Georgetown University, Center for Applied Linguistics and The
George Washington University, it provides materials and services to improve
foreign language teaching and learning.
