    FLAS Fellowships: Instructions  
     

FLAS Instructions for On-Line Submission

  1. Fill out the On-Line Application Form
  2. Fill out and print the COVER SHEET Form
  3. Submit THREE letters of reference
    ONE from your major advisor
    ONE from an instructor
    ONE from your current language instructor
  4. Submit UNDERGRADUATE and GRADUATE school transcripts
  5. Statement of Purpose essay ( one to two pages in length and address prior language study, need for continued language study, your research interests and career goals and how language study will help you; for students applying for a summer program, please indicate why you chose the program)
  6. Take the complete application packet to your home department; applications may ONLY be submitted by the department

You may only access the on-line form ONCE. Please be prepared to answer the following questions. Failure to completely fill in the required information can disqualify you. If you have any questions, please call 244-1244.
Submit all supporting documentation to your home department in the order listed on the cover sheet form.
