COST
Expenses that the Fulbright-Hays grant
will cover:
- International roundtrip airfare from Bloomington, IL, to Moscow and
from Moscow to New York or Chicago
- All travel within Russia
- All housing and meal expenses in Russia
- Possible stipend to purchase curricular materials in Russia (we may
not be able to offer this since the ticket prices were so high)
- All programming expenses in Russia
Your Cost:
Because Fulbright-Hays does not cover any expenses in the U.S. and other
incidental expenses in Russia, you will incur some expenses for participating
in the program. We expect the expenses to be approximately $500–700
per person (including the five days in Champaign). Much of this
would depend on the cost of your round trip travel to Champaign for the
pre-departure workshop and your incidentals in Russia.
Once the grant has been approved and you have
been selected, you will be asked to send a payment of est.
$265 (payable to: University of Illinois) for the following
expenses by May
11:
- Russian visa processing (We will use Perry Visa Serivce: www.perryvisa.com)
($160)
- Medical insurance, including evacuation insurance for the duration
($30)
(This is required and will be processed by the U of I Study Abroad Office)
- Registration fee for the pre-departure curriculum development workshop
($50)
- Ground shuttle from Champaign-Bloomington ($25)
Other Expenses:
- Travel to Champaign-Urbana, IL, for the pre-departure workshop, and
travel from Chicago or New York to your home upon return from Russia.
REEEC does has a very limited travel grant, which could provide
small subsidies. See the workshop
website for details.
- Any living expenses during the pre-departure workshop (Free housing
and three of the meals will be provided.)
- Any medical expenses in Russia not covered by insurance
- Any incidental expenses in Russia
- Expenses for getting a passport
