Below is additional information on travel to Champaign-Urbana:
Via Air You can fly directly into Champaign's Willard Airport (CMI), which is conveniently located about 15 minutes south of campus. Delta, Northwest, and American Airlines all have service to Champaign. There is also a MTD bus service from the airport to campus as well as cabs. If you are staying at a local hotel, you should check with the hotel to see if it provides free shuttle service. Click here for the MTD airbus route between airport and campus.
You can also choose to fly into Indianapolis Airport (2 hours away from Champaign-Urbana) and Chicago O'Hare Airport and Chicago Midway Airport (2 1/2 hours away) and St. Louis Lambert Airport (3 hours away). The following ground shuttle service is available from these airports:
You can also fly into Central Illinois Regional Airport in Bloomington, IL, which is 50 minutes from Champaign, but there is no easy ground shuttle from Bloomington to Champaign. Lincolnland Express will provide a shuttle on demand, but is expensive.
Via Train Amtrak provides service to Champaign from Chicago Union Station. It stops at the Illinois Terminal in downtown Champaign twice daily. There is local MTD bus service to campus.
Via Bus Greyhound service is available to Champaign. It stops at the Illinois Terminal in downtown Champaign. |
